{"id":5943,"date":"2015-02-09T18:07:20","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T17:07:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.grandesterresbio.com\/?p=5943"},"modified":"2015-02-09T18:07:20","modified_gmt":"2015-02-09T17:07:20","slug":"antarctique-fonte-preoccupante-du-glacier-totten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/claire-jannot.com\/?p=5943","title":{"rendered":"Antarctique: Fonte pr\u00e9occupante du glacier Totten"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le plus grand glacier de l&rsquo;Antarctique oriental, dont la disparition pourrait engendrer une hausse de six m\u00e8tres du niveau des mers, est en train de fondre \u00e0 cause du r\u00e9chauffement de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an, ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 lundi des scientifiques australiens.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.grandesterresbio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/800px-Fryxellsee_Opt.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5944 \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.grandesterresbio.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/800px-Fryxellsee_Opt.jpg?resize=377%2C262\" alt=\"GlacierAntarctique-www.grandesterresbio.com\" width=\"377\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/claire-jannot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/800px-Fryxellsee_Opt.jpg?w=800&amp;ssl=1 800w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/claire-jannot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/800px-Fryxellsee_Opt.jpg?resize=300%2C208&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 377px) 100vw, 377px\" \/><\/a><strong>Le glacier Totten<\/strong>, qui fait 120 kilom\u00e8tres de long sur plus de 30 km de large, \u00e9tait jusque l\u00e0 consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme \u00e9tant situ\u00e9 dans une <strong>zone \u00e9pargn\u00e9e<\/strong> par les courants chauds, o\u00f9 la glace est donc tr\u00e8s stable et peu sujette aux variations.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">De retour d&rsquo;une exp\u00e9dition sur place, des scientifiques australiens ont cependant indiqu\u00e9 que l&rsquo;eau autour du glacier s&rsquo;\u00e9tait av\u00e9r\u00e9e plus chaude qu&rsquo;attendue et que le glacier risquait de fondre par en dessous.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00ab\u00a0Nous savions gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des donn\u00e9es satellitaires que le glacier perdait de l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur mais nous ignorions pourquoi\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;AFP <strong>Steve Rintoul<\/strong>, chef de l&rsquo;exp\u00e9dition.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>La temp\u00e9rature des eaux autour du glacier \u00e9taient environ 1,5 degr\u00e9 plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e<\/strong> que dans dans d&rsquo;autres zones explor\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;occasion de ce s\u00e9jour dans l&rsquo;Antarctique pendant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 austral, a-t-il ajout\u00e9.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00ab\u00a0Le fait que des eaux chaudes puissent atteindre ce glacier t\u00e9moigne que l&rsquo;Est Antarctique est potentiellement plus vuln\u00e9rable \u00e0 l&rsquo;impact du r\u00e9chauffement global qu&rsquo;on ne le pensait jusqu&rsquo;alors\u00a0\u00bb. <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le <strong>glacier Totten<\/strong> ne va pas fondre du jour au lendemain et provoquer une mont\u00e9e brutale du niveau des mers, a dit le chercheur. <strong>Mais il a soulign\u00e9 que cette d\u00e9couverte \u00e9tait importante pour mieux cerner l&rsquo;impact<\/strong> du changement de la temp\u00e9rature de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an sur la couverture glaciaire.\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le rythme de la fonte des glaciers dans la zone de l&rsquo;Antarctique la plus expos\u00e9e \u00e0 ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne a<strong> tripl\u00e9 au cours de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie<\/strong>, selon une \u00e9tude publi\u00e9e le mois dernier et portant sur les 21 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Source : SYDNEY,\u00a026 jan 2015 (AFP)<\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cr\u00e9dit photo :\u00a0Par Joe Mastroianni, National Science Foundation (From Antarctic Photo Library: LAKEFRYXELL.JPG) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons<\/span><\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/address>\n<address style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/address>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le plus grand glacier de l&rsquo;Antarctique oriental, dont la disparition pourrait engendrer une hausse de six m\u00e8tres du niveau des mers, est en train de fondre \u00e0 cause du r\u00e9chauffement de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an, ont d\u00e9clar\u00e9 lundi des scientifiques australiens.
