Selon plusieurs chercheurs dont les \u00e9tudes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 publi\u00e9es par la <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.com\/earth\/story\/20170310-the-wreck-of-the-titanic-is-being-eaten-and-may-soon-vanish\">BBC<\/a>, <strong>les vestiges du paquebot pourraient dispara\u00eetre d\u2019ici \u00e0 2037.<\/strong> Lorsqu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvert en 1985 dans l\u2019Atlantique Nord, le paquebot \u00e9tait \u00e9tonnamment bien conserv\u00e9 \u00e0 <strong>3,8 kilom\u00e8tres sous la surface de la mer.<\/strong> Le manque de lumi\u00e8re et la pression ont rendu l\u2019\u00e9pave inhospitali\u00e8re aux \u00eatres vivants, ce qui a permis une corrosion plus lente qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019accoutum\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Cependant aujourd\u2019hui, la carcasse de \u00ab\u00a0l\u2019insubmersible\u00a0\u00bb navire est en perdition. Le bois a en premier lieu \u00e9t\u00e9 rong\u00e9 par les organismes marins, exposant ainsi sa coque de m\u00e9tal. Des chercheurs de<strong> l\u2019universit\u00e9 canadienne de Dalhousie<\/strong> avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne en 1991, en pratiquant diff\u00e9rents relev\u00e9s visant \u00e0 analyser les diff\u00e9rentes bact\u00e9ries pr\u00e9sentes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Une nouvelle bact\u00e9rie :\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En 2010, un second groupe de scientifiques men\u00e9s par <strong>Henrietta Mann<\/strong>, issu de\u00a0la m\u00eame universit\u00e9 canadienne, a identifi\u00e9 avec succ\u00e8s la bact\u00e9rie responsable de la corrosion du m\u00e9tal pr\u00e9sent sur le navire. Cette bact\u00e9rie \u00e9tant inconnu, elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 appel\u00e9e <strong>\u00ab\u00a0Halomonas titanicae\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong> du nom du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre bateau.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">La BBC ajoute qu\u2019elle peut r\u00e9sister \u00e0 des conditions extr\u00eames auxquelles aucun autre organisme ne r\u00e9sisterait. \u00c0 bord du Titanic, la bact\u00e9rie a prolif\u00e9r\u00e9 au niveau des rusticles, stalactites de rouilles qui se forment sous l\u2019eau. Et malheureusement pour l\u2019\u00e9pave, ces stalactites sont de plus en plus nombreuses et fournissent\u00a0un lieu propice \u00e0 la bact\u00e9rie Halomonas titanicae\u00a0qui appr\u00e9cie apparemment le fer.
